Teaching

I do not have a formal teaching appointment but do lead two seminars:

Science Education for Civic Participation (NR 699). This graduate seminar focuses on the intersection of science education, the environment, and civic participation. We currently are writing a series of papers that link Science Education for Civic Participation to the scholarship of each of my graduate and undergraduate research students.

Introduction to Graduate Studies in Natural Resources (NR 600). This course provides an introduction to proposal writing, research presentations, and the diverse research areas in the Cornell Field of Natural Resources.

I also help support three classes:

International Agriculture and Rural Development 402/602. I co-led a Cornell and Indian university exchange focusing on international agriculture in southern India.

Graduate Student Outreach. This course prepares and supports graduate students guiding secondary students in inquiry and other science learning. It is taught by Nancy Trautmann, co-PI on the Cornell Science Inquiry Partnerships program.

Urban Environments. I am supporting the Urban Environments instructor Keith Tidball. This class includes a spring break service-learning experience in New York City.
