Graduate program

If you are a graduate student working with me, here is what you can expect.

You will integrate practical work with youth and educators in community settings with your research. Your work can be in urban or rural US or international communities.

You will be part of a diverse group of students who share a passion for exploring questions related to science and sustainability education, environment, community, culture, civic participation, and democracy in the US and internationally.

I will help you to define your research questions and approaches, establish collaborations with community and non-governmental organizations integral to carrying out your work, communicate your ideas and findings, and seek funding. I will expect you to think critically and logically, write well, give professional presentations, publish your work, and participate in a community of graduate and upper level undergraduate research students supporting and learning from each other. You will seek out faculty in the Education, Communication, and related departments at Cornell for course work and advice related to your research.
